IS QUIET ON THE MENU?

While you might know that excessive exposure to loud sounds is associated with hearing loss, you may not realize that the loudness and the type of music you listen to can affect your dietary habits. Recent research should give you something to think about when you eat and shop for food. According to a recent study, it was found that restaurant and café patrons made healthful food choices 10% more often when they listened to music played at 55 decibels than they did at 70 dB. The study also found that diners who listened to classical music made healthful food choices 92% of the time, while those listening to heavy metal music only made healthy choices half the time.

Our main goal is to help as many people as possible improve their hearing and thus their lives. We hope to help the hearing impaired better enjoy their world through education about healthy choices, the advanced technology available today, and the friendly, compassionate service The Ear Clinic has come to be known by. P.S. With the above-mentioned studies in mind, it may be helpful to keep the volume down around the kitchen and dining room tables at home if you want your family to accept healthier foods at home.
